Hello Fall!

I love this time of the year.  The months of October through February/March include all my favorite holidays.  I decided to do a little Fall decorating last weekend and here is what I have come up with so far...

The fire place mantel

The kitchen table

The pumpkin bowl

Cute turkey

Pumpkins in front of the door

Fall wreath basket for the front door

I still have some work to do, but I'm pretty happy with my fall decorations as of right now.  I don't want to over-do it.  My fall table inspiration came from Pottery Barn's Fall Decorating Guide.  They really have some great stuff...including those cute pumpkin bowls, napkin rings, and Mr. Turkey seen above.

In the next few weeks, I will more than likely add small fall touches to the kitchen, dining room, living room and bathrooms.  I will also probably add a little something to the front door to pull the look together.  These decorations are great for the months of September through November.  Then I can get the Christmas goods out!!!!!  :o)

Shirt: Banana Republic, Cardigan: Gap, Pants: JCrew, Boots: Jeffrey Campbell

This outfit makes me think of a pumpkin spice latte. No I can not explain it. Maybe its the mix of color and texture, but something about this says pumpkin spice latte to me.

It is finally getting cool enough for me to wear these pants! They are corduroy and I got them awhile ago during a JCrew summer sale; however, as you may know, cords are really warm. They are also really orange so I am having trouble deciding what to pair them with. So far I mostly reserve them for game days (Hook'em Horns!). I would love some color mixing ideas for these pants, so if you have any suggestions please speak up!

Side note writing about corduroy made me think of this.

Pick of the Day

Ta-da! This a tuxedo style blazer from Zara. I've been wanting a tuxedo blazer for a while, and this one from Zara seems to fit the bill perfectly. I love the longer lines and sharpness that you don't get in a traditional suit jacket. Coincidentally my only black blazer has seemingly disappeared from my house. So who knows, maybe I'll be in the market for new one soon.

There have been so many things going on around my house lately that it is getting hard to keep up. I can't believe that October (kicking off the holiday season) is finally here! This weekend I put up my fall decorations, and we've been fixing up the house for out of town guests (with the help of my parents). I also had a bridal shower thrown for me by some great family friends! I'll have to share some pictures later.

It was a fun busy weekend that went by way too quickly! How was your weekend? Are you excited for fall festivities?

The Week In Review

This week we made some fantastic (and surprisingly strong) margaritas from a recipe we got from the engineers parents. There were some walks in the bayou, a Jenga tower so tall I couldn't fit it all in frame, and we went for a swim. Also for some reason my office at work now feels like an igloo. All and all it was a pretty good week.

Have a great weekend! Also just for fun Draw A Stickman!

Style Me Pretty: A Conundrum

This is my dress for the rehearsal dinner. The photos aren't great because they were taken in the dressing room by my mum. Now I am having trouble deciding on accessories and a hair style. Normally I don't worry so much about the hair, but hey its the rehearsal dinner for my wedding so I want to jazz it up. So, I'm throwing it out there.... does anyone have suggestions for hair, make up, accessories? If so I would love to hear about them!

Here is what I came up with on Polyvore.
Thanks from the clueless bride to be.

Style Me Pretty

Its a ghost! Oh wait that is just me. Being pale, and semi-transparent.

Floral skirt is from The Pink Hanger and shirt is from Gap. I've been sitting on these pictures for a few days, but still can't come up with a darn thing to say. So instead I will present you with Perpetual Kid. This a website I have just recently discovered. It is awesome. As evidence I present:

That is a 3 pound gummy worm!

Candy not your thing? How about some bacon....

.... bandages that is.

So, in conclusion if you are as much of a kid as I am you will thoroughly enjoy this site. Have a great day!

ps.
If I had a kid this would definitely happen at Halloween! Baby Dracula

Style Me Pretty

The maxi skirt came from the always lovely Pink Hanger, and I've been wearing it around all summer. This time around I tried to dress it down for a more casual day, and I would like to think that I was successful. The Engineer (adopted bloggy name for B) and I went to Disney world and Universal studios last year just before we got engaged, and before we left we picked up these styling shirts that say Thing 1 and Thing 2. I really like them because when we stand together it makes my favorite number (yes I still have a favorite number and it is 12).

On a completely unrelated note, The Engineer and I are getting married in exactly one month. I can't believe it is so close, and I'm unbelievably excited to marry my best friend. Have a happy Thursday lovelies!

Pick of The Day

I don't know about you people, but I am having a major obsession with wrap coats/jackets/capes...whatever you want to call them.

My current favorite is Rachel Zoe's, Ali Wrap Cape featured below.  What. A. Gem!  You have no idea how bad I am wanting this cape!!!!

I am also obsessed with the rest of Rachel Zoe's new collection.  Her lookbook can be viewed here.

Another love of mine is the Ann Taylor, Leather Trimmed Wrap seen below.  I see this being a major staple in my fall/winter wardrobe!

One more before I go...

This adorable BB Dakota "Josie" Wrap Coat is also a winner in my book.  I just LOVE the hood featured on the coat!  Plus, it's a great alternative to Rachel Zoe's Ali Wrap Cape if you are looking to save a few dollars.

Let's Celebrate

HIMYM/NPH Style: Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog...

This is only act 1, but I promise this is worth watching if you....

  1. Love NPH
  2. Love How I Met Your Mother
  3. Love musicals
This is just to celebrate that B is coming home, I'm half way through the work week, and we are going to start watching the new season of HIMYM!

Happy Tuesday folks!

ps. Here are the rest of the Dr. Horrible videos.

Shoes: Marshall's (GoMax)
Tank: Target
Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Shorts: Khol's

So while it may look like fall it feels like hades outside. Some women glisten with a glamorous sheen, but not I. I don't think it would have been so bad if I hadn't had to chase down the boy. He decided that the POISONOUS SNAKE INFESTED bayou would be fun to swim in! I had to chase the now smelly little dude down and re-leash him.

I'm trying to complete the No pony tail challenge set by miss Natalia of Ma Nouvelle Mode. This is my double braided bun, and I'm starting off strong. I'm excited to try out no pony tail for the week. It might be hard early in the morning when I'm trying to get to work, but I'm ready!

p.s. He still looked irresistibly cute.

Moving into fall...
Blazer
This is lovely little blazer that I could see myself rocking this fall. Now if only the weather would get below 100 here in Texas I could wear tweed. Then if we could get some rain it would be perfect.

Even though it is only Thursday my brain seems to think it is Friday, and no matter how much I tell myself that it is Frid Thursday I can't shake the Friday feeling. So, that must mean the only cure is margaritas after work with my main squeeze and sleeping in tomorrow. Since neither is really an option I guess I'll have to settle for some amazing videos. Those videos just warm my heart! Have a great day!

Boots , BlazerJeansT-shirt (similar), Necklace (similar)

I'm back for a short visit. This has been my transitioning into fall outfit. It is also the outfit I wore around this weekend for wedding errands. That sort of disheveled hair and bewildered face are pretty much standard for me these days. Planning a wedding is time consuming. Anyone who tells your otherwise is crazy has super powers.

On to bigger and better news.....

We added to our family! It has been crazy around here with this new little addition to our family but we are so happy. It is hectic right now, but I would not trade it for the world. Our little fur babies are growing up and we are getting married. It seems unreal!

Fun fact... The little dude has tripled in size since we got him and grazes like a cow.

I'll try to post more outfits in the coming weeks, but no promises. Have a great day lovelies!

LOUIS is ALWAYS a good surprise! And P.S. I have an awesome husband!

I know a lot of you have amazing significant others, but I'm going to brag on how amazing my guy is for just a few minutes of your time!

My husband works out of town quite a bit.  His job requires him to be gone for about a month at a time and then he comes home for about a week, and he's gone again.  Because of that schedule, we take advantage of any time he may have away from the job...even if it's just for 12 to 24 hours.  It just so happened that he had one of those days where he had a few hours away from the job.  His company is going through a merger with another company and he needed some official paperwork from the house for a meeting the next day.  So we decided to make a date out of it all in San Antonio.  It was a good meeting point for the both of us.  I gathered up all the paper work, packed my bag, made a reservation at a hotel, dropped off the dogs at the kennel and I drove the three and half hours to San Antonio!  I was SO excited to see my husband!  It had been about 3 weeks since the last time I had seen him.  I got to the hotel earlier than him, so I put on my swimsuit and headed to the pool.  He showed up about an hour later and was really wanting me to come up to the room.  I said I had a drink in my hand, the sun was shining, and the pool felt amazing...why not come hang out here for a while?  I finally talked him into it...I couldn't understand why he wouldn't want to join in on the fun at the pool.  We hung out for a good hour or so and decided to head to the room to take showers and get ready for dinner.  On our way back to the room, I said something about needing to use the restroom but I would just wait until we made it back to the room.  He then started being pushy about me using the bathroom before we got to the room.  I was thinking...what is wrong with him?!  Weirdo.  After having a brief discussion in the lobby about me not wanting to go to the bathroom in the public restroom, we headed to our hotel room.  I opened the door to find a huge LOUIS VUITTON shopping bag sitting on our bed!!!!

Aaaahhh (Choir of angels singing)!!!!!

It all made sense now!  I understood why he was being so weird about me coming up to the room and wanting me to use the bathroom before I got to our room!  I almost peed myself right there at the door!  My husband does not surprise me a lot, but when he does...it's a REALLY GOOD SURPRISE!  I had told him a couple of times about the LV purse I had been wanting, but surely he didn't remember these details...

I ran and jumped on the bed and started to open the gift.  It was kinda like a lion pouncing it's prey, but more careful.

TA-DA!!!!!!  The beautiful TIVOLI GM!!!!!!!!!  What. A. Surprise!...good job husband!  :o)

I seriously have the best husband ever!  The Lord couldn't have chosen a more perfect man for me.  I'm not just saying that because he bought me a LV purse.  He really is an amazing man/husband and I don't tell him that often enough.  I appreciate how hard he works for the two us and I know he appreciates how hard I work for the both of us as well.  I am very blessed to have such an amazing man who loves me and wants the world for me, as I do him.

BEST SURPRISE EVER!!!!!!!!  Love you hubs!  ;o)

Score!

While doing a little late night shopping...I found something that made me jump off my seat and smile from ear to ear.  It wasn't anything I was particularly looking for, I just so happened to stumble upon amazingness!  Ladies and gents...feast your eyes on this deal I just found...

Valentino Bow Jelly Thong
$295.00

Dollhouse Bow Sandals
$16.00

Yes people, that's a $279.00 savings!!!  AND these shoes look exactly alike!!  I fell in love with my mother in law's Valentino's while on vacation in Cabo.  However, I was not willing to spend $295.00 on a pair of sandals to wear to the pool and on the beach.  Until...I stumbled upon these Dollhouse look-a-likes!  Ssshh.  It will just be our little secret.  Everyone else can think I'm wearing Valentino's.  :o)  Score!

Pick(s) of The Day

Does anyone else's heart skip a beat whenever you see a pair of studded or metallic glittery pumps?!  Maybe it's just me, but I can't get over these shoes! I need them ASAP!  I could not pick just one pair of shoes for today's post.  It deserved a couple of picks.  ;o)

Sam Edelman "Lorissa" Spike Pump
Enzo Angiolini "Smiles" Platform Pump
Sam Edelman "Lorna" Pump
Steve Madden "BevvS" Platform Pump
My favorites are the Sam Edelman spiked denim pumps.  How amazing are they?!  I LOVE them!  I also love the Steve Madden sequin pumps.  Ahh!  The Sam Edelman Lorna pumps really have it all going on though.  They are metallic, have studs, AND have a bow!  What more could a girl ask for in a shoe?!  Maybe it's just because I watched both the Sex & the City movies last night with my girlfriend, but I'm really craving all these beauties right now.

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!
